Account & Orders

Do I need to create an account to place an order?

Yes - an account is required to place an order.

Why We Require Accounts:

1. Pattern Storage
Your measurements and patterns are saved to your account forever. Without an account, we'd have no way to store your pattern for future reorders or track adjustments.

2. Order Communication
Custom tailoring requires back-and-forth: measurement confirmation, draft fitting feedback, adjustment discussions, shipping updates. An account keeps all communication in one place.

3. Order History
You can see past orders, saved measurements, pattern records, and delivery tracking.

Creating an Account:

Takes 30 seconds:
- Email address
- Password
- Name

Or sign in with Google for one-click setup.

Privacy: Your measurements and order details are private. We never share your data with third parties. Your pattern is stored securely and used only for YOUR orders.

The Benefit:
- First order: full draft fitting process
- Future orders: skip the draft (pattern already verified) = faster delivery

The account makes your second suit significantly easier than your first.

How do I track my order status?

Multiple ways to stay updated on your order.

1. Profile Dashboard

Log into your account at linensuit.shop to see current order status, production stage (measuring → cutting → sewing → finishing → shipping), estimated delivery dates, and past order history.

2. Email Notifications

We email you at each milestone:
- Order confirmed
- Measurements received
- Draft garment shipped (with tracking)
- Draft feedback received
- Final garment in production
- Final garment shipped (with tracking)
- Delivery confirmed

3. Shipping Tracking

Both draft and final garments ship with tracking numbers via international carriers (DHL, FedEx, or similar) with real-time location updates.

4. Direct Communication

Typical Timeline:
- Day 0: Order placed
- Day 14: Draft shipped
- Day 21-28: Draft arrives, you send feedback
- Day 49: Final shipped
- Day 56-63: Final arrives

What currency do you charge in? Will I pay foreign transaction fees?

We charge in USD (US Dollars).

All prices on our website are in USD. This is the currency that appears on your credit card statement.

Currency Conversion:

If your card is in a different currency (EUR, GBP, AUD, etc.):
- Stripe (our payment processor) handles the conversion
- Your bank converts at their exchange rate
- The rate is typically close to market rate

Foreign Transaction Fees:

This depends on YOUR bank/card, not us:
- Some cards: No foreign transaction fees (travel cards, premium cards)
- Most cards: 1-3% foreign transaction fee
- Check your card terms or call your bank if unsure

Example: $650 suit with 2.5% foreign transaction fee = $650 + $16.25 = $666.25 equivalent in your currency

Tip: If you travel or shop internationally often, consider a card with no foreign transaction fees.

What We Control:
- Price in USD: transparent, same for everyone
- No hidden fees from us
- Shipping included worldwide

What We Don't Control:
- Your bank's exchange rate and fees
- Any local import duties (rare for clothing under $800)

Can I save my cart and come back later?

Yes - your cart and customizations are saved.

How It Works:

If Logged In:
- Cart items persist indefinitely
- Customizations (fabric, lapels, buttons, etc.) are saved
- Come back days or weeks later - everything's there
- Saved across devices (start on phone, finish on laptop)

If Not Logged In:
- Cart persists for your browser session
- Clears if you close browser or clear cookies
- Customizations may not persist

Recommendation: Create an account before customizing. Your choices are saved and you can take your time deciding.

What Gets Saved:
- Products in cart
- All customization options selected
- Quantity
- Any notes you've added

What Doesn't Get Saved:
- Measurement data (enter at checkout)
- Payment information (re-enter for security)

Abandoned Cart: If you add items and don't complete checkout, we may send a reminder email. This helps if you got distracted - no pressure to buy.

Multiple Items: You can customize multiple items, save them all to cart, and check out together. Great for building a complete wardrobe.
