Custom Suit Fitting From Home: No Tailor Visit Required

No tailor near you? No time for appointments? No problem.

Custom suits used to require finding a skilled tailor, booking multiple appointments, driving across town, waiting in fitting rooms. And online suits often don't fit because they skip the verification step.

Now you can get fitted at home. In your own time. In your underwear if you want.

Here's exactly how.

Why Traditional Fitting Is Inconvenient

The old way of getting a custom suit:

  1. Research tailors in your area
  2. Book appointment (often 2-3 weeks out)
  3. First visit: measurements + fabric selection (1 hour)
  4. Second visit: first fitting (30 minutes + travel)
  5. Third visit: final fitting (30 minutes + travel)
  6. Total: 3 trips, 4+ hours, spread over 6-8 weeks

That assumes you live near a skilled tailor. Many people don't.

The Problems

Location: Suburbs, rural areas, smaller cities—good tailors are scarce. The nearest skilled bespoke tailor might be hours away.

Scheduling: Appointments during business hours. What if you work? What if you're a shift worker, a parent without childcare, someone who can't just take Tuesday afternoon off?

Time cost: Each visit isn't just 30 minutes. It's driving, parking, waiting, driving back. Three trips adds up to half a day of your life.

What if they get it wrong? More visits. More scheduling. More driving.

The traditional fitting process excludes a lot of people who would love a custom suit but can't access the process.

The Complete Home Fitting Process

Here's how it works when you fit a suit from home:

Step 1: Provide Your Measurements (15 minutes)

Option A: DIY Measurements (Free)

You and a friend with a tape measure. Our video guides walk you through each measurement. 15-20 minutes total. Works well for most people.

Option B: Pattern Service ($49 one-time)

Send us a shirt or jacket that fits you well. We extract the pattern from your garment and build your measurements from something already proven to fit. You never measure again for future orders.

Compare both options here.

Step 2: Choose Your Suit (Online)

Browse 150+ fabrics—Italian linen, English tweed, premium wool. Select your style: lapel type, button configuration, pocket style, vent style. Add customizations if you want: lining color, monogram, functional buttonholes.

Order placed in 10-15 minutes from your couch.

Step 3: Receive Draft Garment (2-3 weeks)

We make a test suit in fitting fabric—not your final fabric—and ship it to your door. Anywhere in the world.

Learn more about draft fitting.

No appointment. No waiting room. Just a package arriving like anything else you order online.

Step 4: Try On At Home (Your Schedule)

This is where the magic happens.

Try the draft on in your bedroom. Check the fit in your own mirror. Button it, sit down, raise your arms, move around. Take your time—no tailor watching, no appointment ending.

Notice what feels right. Notice what doesn't.

Step 5: Send Feedback

Take a few photos (we provide simple guides). Note what fits perfectly and what needs adjustment. Email or WhatsApp—whatever works for you. We respond within 24 hours.

This is the fitting appointment—but at home, on your schedule.

Step 6: Receive Perfect Final Suit (2-3 weeks)

We adjust the pattern based on your feedback. Cut your chosen premium fabric using the verified pattern. Ship the final suit directly to you.

Done.

Total time investment: About 1 hour of your active time, spread over 5-6 weeks.

Compare that to 4+ hours and three separate trips for traditional fitting.

What You Need for Home Fitting

Required

  • Tape measure (we can send one if needed)
  • Someone to help measure (friend, partner, roommate)
  • Mirror (you have one)
  • Phone for photos (you're reading this on one)
  • 15 minutes for measurements
  • 20 minutes to try on the draft

Optional But Helpful

  • Well-fitting shirt (for pattern service option)
  • Dress shoes (to check trouser break accurately)
  • Dress shirt (to check sleeve length with cuff)

That's it. No special equipment. No studio visit. Your bedroom works fine.

Home Fitting vs Showroom Visit

Factor Showroom Visit Home Fitting
Travel required Yes (multiple trips) No
Appointment needed Yes No
Time commitment 4+ hours ~1 hour
Fit verification In-person Draft garment
Comfort level Public fitting room Your bedroom
Availability Business hours Anytime
Location requirement Must be nearby Worldwide

The result is the same: Both methods verify fit before final garment. Home fitting just removes the logistics.

Some people prefer the showroom experience. That's valid—it can feel more personal, more traditional.

But if you can't access a showroom, or don't want to, or just value your time? Home fitting gets you the same quality outcome.

"What If I Mess Up Measurements?"

Short answer: The draft fitting catches it.

Self-measurements aren't perfect. We know this. That's exactly why we send a draft garment.

If your measurements are off by an inch? We see it in the draft. If you measured your shoulders wrong? Visible immediately when you try it on. If you forgot to account for your posture? Shows up in the fitting photos.

The draft is your safety net. Take your best measurements, and we'll verify with your real body.

Plus, our fit guarantee covers free alterations if anything needs adjustment after the final suit arrives.

This is the difference between "measure once, hope for the best" and "measure once, verify, then make." The second approach works better.

Works Anywhere in the World

We ship draft fittings worldwide. Shipping included in the price.

No tailor visit required at any stage. Your bedroom is the fitting room.
